jose mourinho is not going to apologise for his behaviour during Real Madrid's 3-2 defeat by Barcelona in the Spanish Supercup, his spokesman said yesterday.

Eladio Parames said: "Jose will not ask for forgiveness; he firmly believes that he was defending the interests of Real Madrid."

Mourinho poked a finger in the eye of Barcelona assistant Tito Vilanova after a wild tackle by Marcelo on Cesc Fabregas sparked a scuffle between the players.

The Real manager was also seen making inappropriate gestures toward Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Daniel Alves.
