Mourinho, Barca boss bans lifted
THE bans imposed on Real Madrid manager Joe Mourinho and new Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova following last season's eye-poke incident have been lifted.
Pep Guardiola's former assistant Vilanova was poked in the eye by Mourinho during a melee at the end of the Spanish Super Cup final.
The Spanish federation imposed a two-match Super Cup ban on Mourinho, and one on Vilanova for reacting to the aggression by pushing him away. But federation boss Angel Maria Villar has lifted the bans as part of a general amnesty.
Barca and Real Madrid will resume their rivalry in the the first leg of the new season's Super Cup at the Nou Camp on August 23, with the return leg at the Bernabeu on August 29.
