PADDY McCOURT and Liam Lawrence are looking for new clubs after being released by Barnsley in the aftermath of their relegation from the Championship.

McCourt (30), the talented ex-Shamrock Rovers, Derry City and Celtic midfielder, joined Barnsley at the start of the season after spurning the advances of then Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon, although he had indicated that he was also interested by the MLS.

Lawrence (32) came back to England during the January transfer window following a stint in Greece with PAOK. However, he was unable to help the club stay afloat and will now look elsewhere.

Manager David Flitcroft has decided to retain Dubliner Stephen Dawson.

Meanwhile, Sean St Ledger's departure from Leicester is expected to be confirmed in the coming days. St Ledger is on the look-out for a new club after an injury-interrupted season which meant he played no part in their promotion to the Premier League.
