McClean and Duffy to start on bench against Czechs

IRELAND’S fresh recruits James McClean and Shane Duffy have been named as subs for tomorrow’s friendly against the Czech Republic at the Aviva.

Both will run out at some stage as substitutes.

Giovanni Trapatonni will start though with what is his favourite first eleven.

But Kevin Doyle, of Wolves, has returned to his club carrying a knock, so Shane Long will partner skipper Robbie Keane upfront.

Birmingham’s Keith Fahey has also had to withdraw because of injury.

In a new development, the FAI confirmed today that they have been able to secure extra tickets for the group stage matches at Euro 2012.

It has secured an extra 2,300 tickets for the matches against Croatia, Spain and Italy bringing the allocation for each game up to around 6,800.

The team: Given; O'Shea, St Ledger, O'Dea, Ward; Duff, Andrews, Whelan, McGeady; Long, Keane (Capt).
