McCarthy set to take over at Ipswich Town
MICK McCARTHY seems certain to be named as Ipswich Town's new manager within the next 48 hours after seeing off competition from Alan Curbishley, George Burley, Alan Shearer and Owen Coyle to replace Paul Jewell.
Former Ipswich midfielder Matt Holland, who was recruited to the Ireland set-up during McCarthy's time in charge, has been lined up to become his assistant.
Ipswich are currently bottom of the Championship, having failed to win any of their last 10 home league matches.
