Maradona bitten by dog

Argentina coach Diego Maradona has undergone facial surgery after being attacked by one of his dogs, according to reports.

The 1986 World Cup winner was reportedly taken to the Los Arcos clinic in the early hours of Tuesday morning and is not expected to return home until later today.

Witnesses told broadcaster Cronica that the 49-year-old was bleeding close to his mouth when he arrived at the clinic with his girlfriend.

Argentina have been drawn in Group B for the World Cup finals alongside Nigeria, Greece and South Korea.
