Liverpool fan names newborn son after match winner on crazy night of European football

There might not be a load of little Dejan's running around Liverpool in the near future but there will be at least one after a fan of Jurgen Klopp's men announced that he was going to name his son after the Liverpool defender following his goal in last night's sensational European tie.

Dejan Lovren rose highest to head home the goal that completed Liverpool's 4-3 comeback against Borussia Dortmund and booked the Reds' Europa League semi-final place.

Liverpool fans were understandably ecstatic after the turnaround victory, but few were as happy as one supporter named Michael, who spoke to BBC Five Live after the game.

Michael watched the Istanbul-esque comeback in hospital where his wife had just given birth to a baby boy, and he appeared to have gotten very carried away with the Croatian's winning goal at Anfield.

"I'm going to call him Dejan," he said.

"This is the greatest day of my life. I am Liverpool Football Club.

"I've been to Istanbul and Rome. I've been everywhere. But that was fantastic."
