Just because you no longer represent a club doesn't mean your heart ever truly leaves.

After Liverpool's sensational European comeback against Borussia Dortmund last night, Xabi Alonso was quick to tweet a message of support, posting a picture of the famous 'This is Anfield' sign on his page.

The Spaniard wasn't the only ex-Red who got carried away with yet another magical night at Anfield either. Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legend John Aldridge was on commentary duty for LFC TV, and when Dejan Lovren headed the home side in front in the dying minutes, he erupted like a volcano.

It is great to see former players retain a sense of passion for their team even long after they have finished their playing careers.
