Lima hat-trick sinks Sevilla
Rodrigo Lima's hat-trick led Portuguese club Braga to a 4-3 win over Sevilla to qualify for the Champions League for the first time by a 5-3 aggregate score last night.
Matheus slid under 'keeper Andres Palop in the 31st minute to put the visitors ahead before starting a move that finished with Lima side-footing home in the 58th to leave the Spanish club reeling.
Luis Fabiano and Jesus Navas brought the Andalucian side level in the 84th minute but Lima sealed the win with goals in the 85th and 90th minutes. Frederic Kanoute scored a late consolation but the Spanish giants had left it too late.
Werder Bremen came back from the brink against Sampdoria to book their place in the group stages after forward Markus Rosenberg levelled the aggregate score at 4-4 three minutes into injury-time in normal time.
Claudio Pizarro then scored in extra-time to break Italian hearts, after Sampdoria had looked on course after taking a 3-0 second-leg lead until the dying seconds.
Partizan Belgrade joined Bremen in the group stages courtesy of a 3-2 penalty shootout win over Anderlecht after the game finished 4-4 on aggregate. The Belgian side blasted three penalties over the bar.
