Leeds fans' relief in Smith return hoax
Alan Smith's agent has been forced to clarify that a Twitter account claiming to belong to the Newcastle United player is a fake.
The move came hours after an account @Alansmith17, describing itself as "the official Alan Smith Twitter account" posted up tweets claiming to be from his bitter ex-fiancee, who apparently had hacked into the site.
The sham account, claimed the midfielder wanted to return to Leeds United but the club "can't afford my wages."
Fortunately for Leeds United fans it was all a hoax, with his representatives, ironically, using the microblogging site to clarify that Smith has never actually held an account.
