Sligo Rovers and Bray Wanderers will take part in the Scottish Challenge Cup next season, it was announced today.

The tournament features Scottish clubs outside the SPL, with Rangers lifting the trophy in 2016. Speaking at today's 2017 Airtricity League season launch, Fran Gavin, FAI Director of Competitions, revealed that Bray Wanderers and Sligo Rovers will compete in the Scottish cup competition during the upcoming season.

The clubs both tweeted that they are 'delighted' to be taking part in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Last season, Sligo secured a fifth place finish in the Airtricity League Premier Division while Bray were one position back in sixth.
