tonight's preview

Galway United v Dundalk

Eamonn Deacy Park, (7.45pm)

League form: Galway United LLWLD, Dundalk WLWWW

Match odds: Galway United 7/1, Dundalk 4/11, Draw 15/4

Referee: P Sutton (Clare)

Team news: Dundalk are at full strength but Galway have doubts hanging over Jason Molloy (back), Sam Oji (hamstring) and Andy O'Connell (foot injury).

Talking point: Having broken Drogheda's hearts for the second time this season with a last-minute winner, a familiar trend is beginning to emerge within this Dundalk team, namely that they are intent on adding to their fine work from last season by adding a second successive title. With a manager obsessed with winning, having spent so much of his career finishing on the lower steps of the podium, the Lilywhites are much more than just a free-scoring, easy-on-the-eye side who can bully weak teams. They have steel as well as style. Galway may have punched above their weight this year but this is one fight they are destined to lose.

Verdict: Away win
