Shamrock Rovers extend stay in India by ensuring semi-final showdown with Brazilian club
Shamrock Rovers are set for more pre-season action during their Indian sojourn and will play Atletico Paranaense in the semi-final of Sait Nagjee Trophy on Thursday.
Rovers finished in second place of Group B following victories over the 1860 Munich reserves and the Argentina U23s, which came after a loss to FC Dnipro’s seconds in the first game of the competition.
A stalemate between Munich and Dnipro ensured that Pat Fenlon’s charges progressed to the penultimate stage, where they will face Brazil’s Paranaense at the at the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode.
Rovers’ opponents topped Group A at the expense of Watford reserves, whom are matched with Dnipro in the other semi.
Should Rovers make the final, it is to be played on February 21.
