Conor O'Malley yesterday completed his move from St Patrick's Athletic to Peterborough.
And the Saints haven't wasted any time in finding a replacement by recruiting 26-year-old Pole Lukasz Skowron, who last played for Portuguese club Olhanense
O'Malley has starred for the Saints in a difficult season, during which he has been kept busy in their relegation battle.
His performances attracted interest from home and abroad, with Peterborough shelling out in the region of €100,000 for the Mayo man.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony announced the move last night, declaring O'Malley as the best young goalkeeper in Ireland.
Peterborough have been closely monitoring the Irish market since signing Chris Forrester from the Saints two years ago.
