North double keeps Sligo on course
Danny North scored his 14th league goal of the season as Sligo Rovers came from behind at Oriel Park to maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table.
Dundalk started brightly and Mark Griffin went close inside four minutes when he got to a ball over the top of Sligo's defence ahead of Gary Rogers, but he shot wide.
Sligo improved after that but they were stunned by their lowly opponents on 37 minutes.
Griffin put in a delightful cross from the left and Michael Rafter made a surging run into the box to head to the bottom corner.
Sligo responded in fine fashion, though, and the equalising goal came right on half-time when ex-Dundalk winger Ross Gaynor supplied a low cross which North tapped in from close range.
And North had his fourth goal against the Louth club this term five minutes into the second half when Cherrie dropped a Joseph Ndo corner and the English-born striker slotted in from eight yards.
