North brace secures the points for Sligo
Sligo Rovers 3 Shelbourne 0
ANOTHER two goals from top-scorer Danny North and a wonder goal from Pascal Millien saw Sligo Rovers maintain their unbeaten record at the Showgrounds last night.
North made it 13 for the season in the league with a clinical brace either side of the break, as Shelbourne were gradually broken down.
And Millien came off the bench to fire home from outside the area just seconds after his introduction to wrap up the win.
The Bit O' Red weathered a period of Shels dominance to finish the first half strongly and North opened the scoring with his first chance two minutes from the break.
He made it 2-0 with his second just two minutes after the restart, shooting home from inside the area after latching onto Mark Quigley's incisive pass.
Shelbourne appealed for offside but to no avail as the game was spun on its head in the space of four minutes either side of the break.
Millien added a spark to the tie in the closing minutes, rifling home a fine goal.
