Nolan brace caps Youths fightback

Wexford Youths 3 Douglas Hall 2

TWO superb second half goals from Shane Nolan capped an amazing comeback by Wexford Youths in an exciting clash at Ferrycarrig Park last night.

The home side had forced two early corners before they took the lead on eight minutes, Dean Brauders scoring from the spot after Thomas Croke was brought down.

However, within 60 seconds the visitors were back level, when Chris Fox powered home a superb 25-metre shot. It came as no real surprise when Brian Wilkinson headed home to make it 2-1 for the visitors and it it remained like this to the interval.

Wexford pressed on the restart and they levelled through Shane Nolan from close range on 52 minutes.

The Youths had 'keeper Graham Doyle red-carded on 82 minutes, but two minutes later Nolan superbly lobbed the 'keeper from outside the area for the Wexford winner.
