UCD strolled into the second round when they trounced an awful Waterford United side at the RSC last night with four-goal striker Cillian Morrison the star of the show.
Morrison opened the scoring on 15 minutes when he rounded 'keeper Packie Holden after Blues defender Dylan Mernagh failed to deal with a left-wing delivery from Mark Langtry.
He notched his second goal four minutes later with a stunning right-footed finish from the edge of the penalty area and he completed a five-minute hat-trick 60 seconds later with a neat finish.
Daniel Ledwith made it four before the break with an exquisite 20-yard effort before Morrison added his fourth on 50 minutes when he finished a Hugh Douglas cross.
Sean Maguire pulled a goal back for Waterford on 58 minutes, before Peter White put the ball into his own net with 15 minutes left when trying to clear a Ledwith free-kick.
