McEleney denies Bohs with stunner
Bohemians 1 Derry City 1
Roddy Collins was hoping to find solace on his return to Dalymount Park but his early season woes continued as Bohemians held Derry City to their seventh draw of the season.
Collins recalled Rory Patterson to his starting XI, but he lasted just 43 minutes before being sent off for a challenge on David Mulcahy.
Buttimer was at the centre of attention again 10-minutes after the restart when Corcoran was shown a straight red card for an incident off the ball.
Referee Anthony Buttimer was the cente of attention again 10 minutes into the second half when he showed Bohs' Dinny Corcoran a straight recred card following an off-the-ball incident.
The Candystripes had 'keeper Ger Doherty to thank for the point as he pulled off a string of fine saves.
Jason Byrne forced an instinctive save from Doherty inside the opening 90 seconds but the striker wasn't to be denied two minutes later. Karl Moore did well down the left flank and his clever pull-back was met by Byrne, who slotted home his fifth goal of the season.
Byrne was again denied by Doherty before Derry drew level with a contender for goal-of-the-season from from Patrick McEleney on 40 minutes.
