Pressure continues to grow on Derry City boss Roddy Collins followng their third defeat of the season.

At the final whistle the boos rung out at the Brandywell, as the home supporters vented their anger at another disappointing display.

All the talk before the game was of the bizarre absence of Derry City assistant boss Peter Hutton, who instead was in attendance at Richmond Park, watching St Patrick's Athletic take on the Candystripes' next opponents, Cork City.

The Dubliners broke the deadlock on 34 minutes when Gary McCabe's 30-yard drive skipped into Ger Doherty's bottom left-corner.

Moments later City should have equalised, but Barry McNamee saw his close-range effort flash wide.

Rovers had chances to put it to bed after the break when Karl Sheppard and Ryan McBride both sent close but one goal proved enough to move the Hoops into second place.
