Ireland U-21 cap Daniel Mandroiu has attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs on the back of his display for Bohemians against Chelsea.

Mandroiu, who joined Bohs from Brighton at the start of this season, has adapted well to League of Ireland football and was this week named as the June player of the month by the SSE Airtricity SWAI.

The St Kevin's Boys graduate played 45 minutes against Chelsea before he was replaced by Keith Ward but Mandroiu's display has sparked cross-channel interest with a number of inquiries yesterday. Last week Bohs rejected a bid of £30,000 from Wimbledon for Ireland U-19 defender Andy Lyons.

UCD expect to complete the sale of current U-21 defender Liam Scales this week but League One side Bristol Rovers now face competition for the Dubliner from Portsmouth.

Shamrock Rovers and Ireland youth international defender James Furlong has signed for Brighton.
