Dundalk maintained their narrow lead over Cork City at the top of the Airtricity Premier Division table tonight after both sides recorded victories.

Stephen Kenny's men eased to a handsome 5-0 win against Bray Wanderers at Oriel Park, while Kieran Sadlier goals at the start and finish saw Cork leave Richmond Park with a 3-1 victory over St Pat's.

In Dundak, a two-goal burst in the opening quarter of an hour all but ended the contest. Patrick Hoban opened the scoring on 13 minutes for the home side, which was quickly followed by another goal from Dylan Connolly.

Jamie McGrath got in on the action six minutes before half time, before Hoban netted his second on 61 minutes.

The points were already secured when Marco Tagbajumi scored Dundalk's fifth 12 minutes from time.

Elsewhere, Waterford recorded a comprehensive 4-0 win over Derry City at the Waterford Regional Sports Centre.

Goals from Rory Feely, Ismahil Akinade and Sander Puri had the home side in control at the break, with Stanley Aborah rounding off the scoring in second half injury time.

And at The Showgrounds, Sligo played out a scoreless draw with Limerick.
