Kilduff deepens Bray gloom
UCD 1 Bray Wanderers 0
Ciaran Kilduff's third goal in four games condemned Bray Wanderers to a fourth straight loss as UCD recovered from back-to-back defeats last night.
The Students dominated and could have won by more, having spurned several clear-cut chances.
The goal came four minutes into the second half when Kilduff fired home from six yards after both Graham Rusk and Robbie Creevy had efforts blocked in a goalmouth scramble.
Bray were denied early on when Robbie Doyle got his head to a deep free-kick, only for Billy Brennan to pull off a tremendous save. UCD came close in the 39th minute when Brian Kane's magnificent double save thwarted Creevy and then Rusk.
Peter McMahon hit the crossbar on the hour mark, and substitute Michael Leahy was foiled by Kane after racing clear following a Bray corner.
Pablo Rodriguez nearly stole a bizarre leveller within seconds of his introduction in the 75th minute -- the Spanish winger's cross landed on the UCD crossbar with Brennan helpless -- that was as close as Bray came to equalising.
