Keegan double as Monaghan fight back
Dundalk 1 Monaghan United 2
A BRACE from Jordan Keegan helped Monaghan to just their second win of the season as they came from a goal down to overcome Dundalk, who have now lost their last four games on the spin.
Michael Rafter gave the Lilywhites a dream start, but Roddy Collins' side turned the game around with two goals in the space of 15 second-half minutes to pile the pressure on Dundalk boss Sean McCaffrey.
Rafter's goal came after just 20 seconds of play. Stephen McDonnell played the ball inside and Rafter shifted the ball to his left before firing a low shot past Michael Schlingermann from 20 yards.
Collins' men hit back after just three minutes of the second half. Keegan tried his luck from 25 yards and the ball flew past Peter Cherrie's despairing dive to find the top right-hand corner.
And the youngster popped up again 15 minutes later on the end of a well-worked move to slide the ball past Cherrie from inside the box to leave the 'Mons' just a point off Dundalk at the foot of the table.
