Kavanagh brace rocks Drogs

St Pat's Athletic 3 Drogheda Utd 0

Still no points away from home, still no wins at all and still -- seemingly -- no luck for Drogheda United.

Their misery continued with a sorry defeat at Richmond Park, but things are starting to look up for an assured St Patrick's Athletic.

Given the situation Drogheda are in, they need every hand they can get. Unfortunately, goalkeeper Steven Trimble couldn't provide one. Daryl Kavanagh's speculative shot from 25 yards slipped through the 'keeper's grasp to give St Pat's the lead.

Kavanagh made it two just before half-time, Daniel North providing him with a tap-in.

North was left with a simple finish on 71 minutes, slotting home Derek Doyle's cross.

Kavanagh could still have had a hat-trick late on, only to hit an upright with his shot.
