Drogheda and Bohemians share the spoils after four goals in seven minutes
Drogheda United 2 Bohemians 2
FOUR GOALS in seven hectic first-half minutes saw the spoils shared as Drogheda United and Bohemians played out an entertaining draw at United Park.
In-form striker Ismahil Akinade headed in his seventh goal in ten games to put Keith Long’s visitors ahead on 37 minutes.
A stunning Paddy Kavanagh volley two minutes later doubled their advantage.
Drogheda – coming off the back of last week’s six-goal drubbing at the hands of neighbours Dundalk – looked down and out.
But a quickfire double brought Mark Kinsella’s men level before half-time.
Within seconds, Keith Treacy scored his first League of Ireland goal with a stunning 25-yard strike to reduce the deficit.
Then, Sean Thornton got free in the Bohs area before curling a shot across Dean Delany and into the bottom corner.
Kavanagh could have won it for the away side in the second half but Micheal Schlingermann’s fingertip save kept his effort out.
