Struggling Derry City have confirmed the departure of manager Peter Hutton this evening.
The news comes after the Candystripes crashed out of the FAI Cup following a 3-0 replay loss to Cork City last night and the club languishing in the Airtricity League, just three points ahead of bottom club Limerick.
The 42-year-old took over at the Brandywell in May 2014 but has been under pressure, though the club maintains it is a "mutual" decision.
"The Derry City FC Board Of Directors would like to announce that Peter Hutton has left the club by mutual consent," a short statement read.
"Derry City FC would like to thank Peter for his service, and we wish him well for the future.
Paul Hegarty will take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
