Coughlan on double as Limerick run Bray ragged

Clinical finishing in a three-goal 10-minute burst saw Limerick advance to the semi-finals last night.

The First Division side were 3-0 up by the 21st minute. Rory Gaffney's long throw saw Garbhan Coughlan hold off Shane O'Connor and back-heel past Darren Quigley at the front post.

Three minutes later, the same pair combined again. Gaffney nodded down and Coughlan struck with a stinging drive from 25 yards.

And the visitors duly notched a third in the 21st minute. Dave O'Leary's slide-rule pass saw Garry Sheahan cleverly dink past the on-rushing Bray 'keeper and in off the far upright.

Wanderers pulled one back in the 55th minute when Jason Byrne converted a penalty after handball by Shaun Kelly. Limerick finished with 10 men when Coughlan was dismissed for a second yellow.
