Corcoran screamer sinks Pat's in thriller

Drogheda United 4 St Patrick's Athletic 3

DINNY CORCORAN ended the season on a high note for Drogheda with a spectacular 71st-minute winner in this seven-goal thriller at Hunky Dorys Park.

St Pat's took the lead after nine minutes when a harmless-looking 30-yard effort by David McMillan found the net.

But the match was turned on its head in a crazy 60-second spell just after the half-hour when Dave Rogers stroked home a penalty for Drogheda before Corcoran put the hosts in front.

St Pat's levelled on the stroke of half-time when McMillan produced a great finish from just inside the box.

In the 48th minute Pat's were ahead through Sean O'Connor, but Tiarnan Mulvenna then picked up a loose ball 25 yards out and equalised on 53 minutes before Corcoran's screamer.
