Cook eager to sign up former bohemians man powell

SLIGO Rovers boss Paul Cook has admitted he is interested in bringing Dublin-born defender Conor Powell back to the Airtricity League.

The former Ireland U-21 left-back left Bohemians for Colchester United last season but has been released by the League One club and has yet to find a new employer.

"He's a good lad, who had a successful career over here and he fits the criteria that we'd be looking for," Cook commented. "Whether Conor wants to do it is down to him.

"We'd love to have a look at that situation with Conor.

"He's certainly a terrific player, he gets very well spoken about from everyone you speak to about him, but it's down to Conor."
