Connor sets sights on Oriel reunion with trusted trio
DUNDALK manager Sean Connor is edging closer to signing former Bohemians defender Liam Burns and ex-Drogheda United players Fahrudin Kuduzovic and Adam Hughes, all three of whom played for Connor at Sligo Rovers.
Burns, one of the league's top defenders last season, has turned down the offer of a new contract with Bohemians on reduced terms, while Hughes is set to opt for Oriel Park rather than link up with former boss Paul Doolin at Cork City
Another former Drog, Shane Robinson, has also turned down Cork in favour of Shamrock Rovers, but Doolin is close to signing at least one former player in the shape of Dan Connor.
Bohemians, meanwhile, are almost ready to enter the transfer market as they conclude separate pay-cut deals with each of their contracted players, with some accepting cuts in exchange for extended contracts.
Stuart Byrne, Ger Rowe, and Paul Keegan are all training with the 2008 double-winners, while Brian Shelley is believed to have already signed for the Phibsborough outfit.
St Patrick's Athletic have asked their players to take a 30pc cut in wages and are in discussions with the players over possible agreements.
