Kurtis Byrne scored a sublime second-half equaliser as St Pat's frustrated Bray, who finished with 10 men at the Carlisle Grounds.

The draw was enough to lift Bray up to second place in the Premier Division table as St Pat's remain in the bottom three.

Bray started brightly in the seaside sun with Dylan Connolly getting their first sight of goal on five minutes, glancing a header wide from Aaron Greene's left-flank delivery.

Four minutes later Greene burst through onto a ball over the top with Lee Desmond retreating well to get in a timely tackle and put the ball out for a corner.

A goal was coming for Bray and it duly arrived on 24 minutes as Ryan Brennan made Pat's pay.

Midfielder Brennan made no mistake when using his head to plant a cross from Keith Buckley to the net after Pat's failed to properly clear Aaron Greene's free-kick.

Scarcely in it in the first half, Saints were back in the game 51 seconds into the second half with a stunning goal.

Patrick Cregg set up Kurtis Byrne who found the top corner with a brilliant 20-yarder for his fourth goal of the season.

Greene then missed a sitter from Connolly's cross as Bray blew a chance to regain the lead four minutes later.

But St Pat's were a revitalised side since equalising and might have taken the lead just past the hour mark, Lee Desmond's header from skipper Ian Bermingham's corner flashing inches over the home crossbar.

Buckley then took the ball of sub Billy Dennehy's toe from Kurtis Byrne's cross to deprive Saints a 90th-minute winner.

Bray had left-back Jason Marks sent off for a second booking in stoppage time.
