late messi magic preserves barca's 100% start

Barcelona kept up their 100% start to the Primera Liga season in a dramatic clash with Sevilla.

In a rousing finale at the Nou Camp, Barca let a two-goal lead slip away before snatching a 3-2 win deep into stoppage time through Alexis Sanchez after an amazing run, dribble and cut-back by Lionel Messi set up the chance with only seconds remaining.

Dani Alves and Messi had put the champions seemingly in command, with Juan Cala having had a goal incorrectly disallowed for the visitors, with no infringement apparent.

It was therefore hard to begrudge Sevilla their 2-2 scoreline after Ivan Rakitic and Coke Andujar hit back, the latter in the 90th minute, but Messi had other ideas. The Argentina wizard burst through and, when his cross was parried away by goalkeeper Antonio Beto, Sanchez followed up to score.

Atletico Madrid , like Barca, made it four wins from four by beating Almeria 4-2.

David Villa and Diego Costa put Atletico two goals to the good and, although Rodri cut the gap before half-time, the pattern was repeated in the second half.

Tiago Cardoso and Raul Garcia struck in quick succession to put the hosts 4-1 up, rendering Alex Vidal's late goal irrelevant.
