Keane lacking confidence, claims Galaxy boss Arena

LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has suggested that Robbie Keane is struggling for confidence after a misfiring display from the Irish skipper in Wednesday's 2-1 CONCACAF Champions League defeat to FC Toronto.

Galaxy had been strongly fancied to go through after a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Canada.

However, Toronto scored a surprise victory in the return match on Wednesday night.

Keane did not enjoy one of his better nights, missing a couple of second-half chances with the tie finely poised.

"He's lost a little confidence," said Arena. "He's had some chances in these past three games. You lose your confidence a little bit. He's going to have to get it back real quick."

The Tallaght man arrived back in Los Angeles in good form after a productive spell at Aston Villa, where he was in fine form, but he has failed to score for his employers as their season gets under way.

Keane will be looking to regain his sharpness with two months to go until he meets up with the Ireland squad ahead of Euro 2012.
