Jerzy Dudek has revealed the circumstances behind Jose Mourinho's 'rat' speech during his time at Real Madrid in his new autobiography.
The Polish keeper said that the current Chelsea boss became enraged after a local journalist appeared to obtain details of his starting XI in the hours before a game with bitter rivals Barcelona on 2011.
He was less than pleased.
Dudek claims this was the substance of Mourinho's rant: "I see your relations with media are quite good. I know we have to get along with them but I didn’t think you were getting along that well. I heard from them that you do not want the meetings before the games, that we practice set-pieces wrong way and our tactical trainings are not good enough. I turn on my TV 4 hours before the game and what the fuck do I see? That the journo is giving away our squad.
"How could we ever surprise them if one of you is a rat!!! Yes, yes a rat! Somebody released the info about the starting XI before the game. They knew everything about us. We trained all week. We wanted to surprise them."
Mourinho appeared to point the finger at a number of other players as he became emotional.
"How can you destroy what we’ve been working for for all week? You screwed me over. But you screwed themselves too. Your families and friends. I will get to the fucking source."
Dudek claims that Mourinho fired a water bottle at the wall and walked out.
Carlo Ancelotti left Real Madrid last week as Florentino Pérez announced that the club would look for a new manager. Pérez said that Ancelotti was part of Real Madrid's glorious history now. He would always be the coach who won La Decima, something which could never be forgotten, even as Pérez moved to make Ancelotti history in a very real sense. Ancelotti was now part of Real Madrid's past as they looked to a future which would look very like their past.
