
* Born February 23, 1978 * Byrne is a first cousin of Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane.
* He was the top scorer in the eircom League for four consecutive seasons, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. A feat never before achieved.
* He is also the all-time top Irish goalscorer in the Champions League, reaching this record during Shelbourne's 2005 campaign, during which Byrne netted five times.
* At the end of the 2006 season, Byrne was the eircom League's joint 12th top scorer of all time with Mick Leech with 132 goals.
* He has won three Premier Division titles, with Shelbourne (2003, '04, 06) and also won the FAI Cup with Bray Wanderers (1999).
* Byrne scored 49 League goals in 128 games for Bray and 83 League goals in 122 games for Shelbourne.
