Perhaps not surprisingly, Leo Messi and Cristaino Ronaldo top the football rich list from France Football that contains three Premier League players.

Barcelona star Messi tops the pile with a whopping €65m per year, three times as much as PSG striker and former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who probably imagines he is worth more than his €21.5m salary.

Ronaldo is €9m a year less well off than his Catalan rival, with a huge gap to Neymar in third place (€36.3m).

Dutch forward Robin van Persie is the highest placed Premier League player with a salary of €25.5m, just ahead of man United team-mate Wayne Rooney.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who will face Ireland this weekend in the European qualifier, completes the top 10, while Brazilian Thiago Silva is the only defender to make the list.
