Stephen Kenny is taking a roundabout route to Armenia for Thursday's U-21 qualifier and he will be bringing a slightly unfamiliar squad on the five-flight return trip.

Aaron Connolly and Troy Parrott are with the senior squad, and Lee O'Connor is also in with Mick McCarthy's group as he is suspended for Armenia. Jayson Molumby is also out with a ban but – like O'Connor – he will be back at Kenny's disposal for next Tuesday's Tallaght date with Sweden.

However, Kenny suffered more withdrawals across the weekend with Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher, QPR's Conor Masterson, Neil Farrugia, Michael Obafemi and Trevor Clarke all ruled out.
