Stephen Hunt join the host of experts clamouring for Daryl Horgan's inclusion in Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland plans.

With Jeff Hendrick suspended and Robbie Brady nursing a concussion injury after last night's unconvincing 1-0 win over Georgia, former Ireland winger Hunt asserted his belief that Horgan should be drafted into the squad for the trip to Moldova.

Horgan has been in stellar form in the Airtricity League but has also being causing headaches for defences right across Europe in Dundalk's amazing Europa League run.

Speaking last night on RTE's highlights package, Hunt said: "Daryl is sitting at home, why isn't he involved?

"Tonight... he would have been a crowd pleaser. Someone to bring on with 15 minutes to go.

"When I watch him in Europa League games he's effective. He looks like Humpty Dumpty if I'm honest with you. He looks like a small man on the pitch, he doesn't look like your class Premier League footballer but you go and look behind the scenes... Can he create chances? Can he have an impact? Yes he can.
