There has been very little goalmouth action in the opening 45 minutes apart from three incidents.

Ireland's Darren Randolph was the hero in the 11th minute as he parried a stinging Stryger Larsen volley and then held on to the follow-up from Cornelius. The Denmark striker will be disappointed he did not find the net with that opening.

Another great chance followed for Denmark i the 32nd minute as Randolph parried Eriksen's drive to Sisto but he could only fire wide with the follow-up as three Irish defenders dived to block in hope rather than expectation.

Ireland finished the half well and Cyrus Christie did brilliantly to get in behind the danish defence but Kasper Schmeichel stayed big to block him.
