Wales will name their new manager on Monday, with Ryan Giggs set to be handed a four-year contract to succeed Chris Coleman.

The Football Association of Wales have called a press conference for 2pm where Coleman's successor will be presented to the media and former Manchester United and Wales winger Giggs is expected to be presented as the new boss.

Giggs emerged as the favourite for the role after an interview last week, with former Wales striker Craig Bellamy, Coleman's former assistant Osian Roberts and Mark Bowen, who has left his position as Stoke assistant manager, also thought to be contenders.

However, Giggs looks set to start his management career by taking over the national team he played for on 64 occasions.

FAW President David Griffiths is reported to have given the green light to the appointment of Giggs, who Wales have wanted as their manager on two previous occasions.

Coleman suggested Giggs may be a good appointment, as he offered these thoughts on his successor:

"I shared a dressing room with Ryan and he is a great fellow, a top fellow. It's hard to call whoever gets it," he stated.

"But being a Welshman myself they will have my support whoever gets it. I couldn't tell you who is going to get it as I don't know, but with my six years in that job I know my way around the international track.

"If anybody wants to talk to me about my experience they can, 100 per cent."
