Stephen Kenny confirms U-21 backroom team as he names first squad

Jim Crawford and Keith Andrews have been confirmed as assistant coaches to Stephen Kenny for the Ireland Under-21 team.
Kenny today unveiled his first squad, a home-based selection, as he embarks on a venture into the international fold that will see him assume control of the senior team in August 2020 at the latest.
The first game of the Euro 2021 qualification campaign for the Under-21s will take place on March 24 against Luxembourg at Tallaght Stadium.
Before that, Kenny assembles a squad drawn solely from the League of Ireland - and two from the Irish League - for two days of training culminating in a workout against the Ireland amateur team on February 6.
Ex-Newcastle United midfielder Crawford should prove a vital asset to Kenny. The Dubliner currently combines his role as the FAI's development officer in Kildare with his role managing the Under-18 squad.
Kenny's U21 squad will compete in the Toulon Tournament this summer. Ireland haven't participated in the event since 2002.
