Self-confessed Manchester United fan Stephanie Roche has admitted she is most looking forward to meeting Cristiano Ronaldo at next week's FIFA awards.

The Irish international will battle it out with Colombia's James Rodriguez and Dutch striker Robin van Persie for the Puskas Goal of the Year for her wonder strike while playing for Peamount United.

While she has earned global praise for her incredible goal, speaking at the Aviva Health School's Fitness Challenge 2015 launch at the Aviva Stadium, she says she is not feeling the nerves ahead of the glitzy award ceremony and is hoping to claim the top prize.

"I wouldn't say nervous, more excited. It's been a great journey for me so far as everyone has said and it's been a great achievement," she admitted.

"I'm just looking forward to the awards now and I'm not going to lie, I'd like to win it. Let's see how it goes on the night."

The United fan will go toe-to-toe with Red Devils star van Persie on the night, but it is a former United star she is looking forward to meeting most in Zurich.

"I'd be a big fan," she conceded. "I'm a huge United fan and he used to play for them and I have followed him since he went to Real Madrid."
