Jeff Hendrick has joined Jon Walters on the doubtful list for Ireland's World Cup double-header with Georgia and Serbia.

Walters remains Martin O'Neill's main concern after damaging ankle ligaments in Wednesday's EFL Cup win over Blackburn.

He has been ruled out of Burnley's Premier League date with Spurs at Wembley tomorrow but Sean Dyche says that scans did provide good news.

However, he still faces a race against time to prove his fitness to Martin O'Neill ahead of Saturday week's date in Tbilisi.

"Jon injured his ankle ligaments but isn't as serious as it could have been, which is good news," Dyche said.

"He still won't be back immediately, but there was good news from the scan and we are hopeful it was pretty straightforward."

Hendrick is a fresh concern with Dyche indicating that the midfielder is struggling.

"He has a tight thigh, so we'll be monitoring him over the next few days and see what happens," Dyche added.

Meanwhile, Ireland U-21 boss Noel King has named rising West Ham star Declan Rice in the squad for the September 5 qualifier with Azerbaijan in Baku.
