Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane does not want Gareth Bale to play in Wales' World Cup qualifiers with Georgia and Ireland due to a calf problem.

But Chris Coleman's star man reported for assessment in Wales this morning. Bale is suffering from muscle fatigue in his left calf and that has presented an issue for his boss.

Bale came off against Borussia Dortmund last week with what was initially reported as a cramp but it turned out to be slightly more serious.

Zidane made his views clear after Bale sat out his side's 2-0 win over Espanyol last night.

"Gareth will go with his national team," said Zidane. "He has not played, but as he still has a bit of an issue we would prefer him not to play."
