Arsenal legend Ian Wright was involved in a row with an Arsenal fans over an anti-Arsene Wenger banner that was unfurled after the 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull City on Tuesday night.

The Gunners comprehensively beat the Championship side thanks to two goals each from Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, but fans still showed a banner that read: "Arsene, thanks for the memories, but it's time to say goodbye".

Speaking on BT Sport, where he is a pundit, Wright said he was "disappointed" that the fans had displayed the banner after a good win.

"If I was a player and went over and saw that... yes, we've had a couple of bad results against Man United and Swansea but it's not over by any stretch of the imagination, the league," he said.

"Hopefully with a bit more confidence the boys will get going again.

But a 4-0 win tonight and you've got that sign I'm really disappointed to see that."

Arsenal had not won in their previous five in all competitions, including three in the Premier League, a run of form that has seen them slip eight points behind leaders Leicester City with just nine matches remaining.

However, the row was not over there after a fan on Twitter responded to Wright's comments later on Tuesday evening.

Twitter user 'Mr Marmite DT' said to Wright: "Maybe you should respect the fans who have a voice an want change, I held it up, why don't you say it to me mate."

To which Wright responded: "I'll disrespect you all day long unfurling your muggy banner after a 4-0 win and plenty enough games left in the league." He then included a bell and an end symbol.

Wright got another response which said: "f*** off Wrighty, you don't pay the money we do, you don't put up with what we do, p****!"

Wright, however, said he had given more than enough to the club.

"I've paid with my fused ankle! 6 injections in a week to play 94 FA cup! Will limp forever! And I'd do it again." He also included a middle finger symbol
