Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp is interested in reuniting with Ireland's record goalscorer Robbie Keane.

The former Liverpool and LA Galaxy striker has been without a club since the end of the 2016 MLS season but could join forces with his old Spurs boss at St Andrew's.

The Dubliner turns 37 this weekend but recent appearances in charity games showed that he hasn't lost his poacher's instincts.

Redknapp managed Keane in Michael Carrick’s Manchester United testimonial last month (where Keane was among the goals) but did not broach the idea of a move.

“I haven’t spoken to Robbie really other than that game,” Redknapp said.

“Robbie is a player you would love to have around your football club.

“He is just a fantastic professional footballer.”

Keane was adamant that he wanted one more challenge as a player after leaving Los Angeles. Could this be it?
