There were wonderful scenes at the K Club on Sunday evening, as former Ireland manager Jack Charlton was reunited with some of the players who helped to put the nation's soccer team on the map.

Mick McCarthy, Kevin Moran, Chris Hughton, Kevin Sheedy and Frank Stapleton were among the heroes who met up with Big Jack, with his famous flat cap being worn by all as a tribute to their former manager.

The event was organised by former Ireland striker Niall Quinn and bookmaker Paddy Power, with bets being taken on the golf event that will take place between the former players today and money being donated to the Liam Miller fund ahead of his tribute match in Cork on Tuesday.

The images of these great heroes of Irish sport back together stir the memories, with all present clearly revelling in the moment.
