Chechnya's leader and former warlord Ramzan Kadyrov has been making his mark on football.
After securing the services of Ruud Gullit to coach Russian Premier League side Terek Grozny, the feared leader is now planning to take to the field play a friendly against a Brazil all-star XI on March 10.
Not content with picking the team, he will also skipper the Chechen side.
"Ramzan will be the team's captain," Khaidar Alkhanov, Chechnya's sport minister said. "This will be a powerful stimulus for the players and a huge present for Chechen supporters."
While there has been no confirmation from Brazil, Alkhanov says fans should expect to see Kaka, Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos (below). Any Brazilian defenders will think twice before putting the boot in on Kadyrov. Human rights groups have accused his private militias of torture and murder of opponents -- we assume they mean political opponents.
