Luka Modric's Real Madrid contract is the latest high profile deal to be exposed by the Football Leaks website.

The site has already revealed the financial details behind deals for David de Gea, Anthony Martial and Mesut Ozil, and now the Croatian is the latest big name player to have contract details released to the public.

Modric joined Los Blanocs from Tottenham in 2012 after becoming an integral player in Harry Redknapp's team.

The midfielder moved to the Bernabeu for a £30 million fee, but the latest contract leak reveals he is valued more highly these days.

Details of the 30-year-old's new Real Madrid contract reveal a €500 million release clause.

Despite the mammoth release clause, the Croatian playmaker's new deal suggests he is still some way off being as valued as Los Blancos' prized Galacticos.

Modric's £4.4 million-a-year salary pales in comparison to the £15 million Gareth Bale is paid as a part of the world record transfer deal which brought him to the club.

Real Madrid were rocked earlier this year when documents revealing the financial details of Gareth Bale's world record transfer to the Spanish capital sparked fury with the player's representatives.

“There should be an inquiry and an independent investigation because it’s outrageous. There also needs to be an apology from the Football Association to the clubs and the player," said Jonathan Barnett, who helped broker Bale's move from Spurs to Real Madrid.

“I think it’s disgraceful that people can get hold of this sort of stuff. It shows complete disregard for both clubs and the player.”

The former Tottenham favourite signed a new contract extension with the club in 2014, taking his deal with Real Madrid into 2018.
